MAC SCHUEPPERT, PLEIN AIR & STUDIO PAINTER
About the Artist
Inspired by dramatic lighting in the landscape, acclaimed Pastel Artist, Mac Schueppert, PSA, is always seeking out new ways to push the color in her works. Through the use of rich, warm and cool colors, and by manipulating the interplay of darks and lights she is able to express the beauty that surrounds her through her paintings. Although she does some plein air work, Mac is primarily a studio painter. The time she spends outdoors hiking or painting is a process of observation, gathering and recording information to use in her studio painting. With the quiet of the studio coupled with the luxury of time, Mac utilizes her references, memory and imagination to develop larger more thoughtful paintings. Rarely blending the layers to preserve the luminous quality of pastel has been Mac's fascination for over ten years.
